The aim of our humanities curriculum is to foster and harness a love and ‘thirst for knowledge’ of History and Geography amongst our children at Whiston Willis. We aim to provide our pupils with a knowledge based, immersive and engaging curriculum which inspires them to be inquisitive initiates and to develop a desire to learn, not only about their local area, but to develop a global awareness of the world around them. We want to provide our children with memorable experiences, ensuring that the planning and delivery of an engaging and innovative curriculum is at the forefront of their development as geographers and historians. We aim to ensure that our children develop the necessary skills to equip them to make sense of a complex and dynamically changing world and thus, become global citizens. We aim to offer a practical, enquiry-based approach to learning by delivering a broad and exciting curriculum that stimulates students’ enthusiasm and helps to bring both history and geography to life.
