Information and Admissions

Structure of EYFS

At Whiston Willis our provision consists of one nursery setting which offers both 15 and 30 hours to our three year old children and two reception classes for our school starters. We offer 3 hour sessions each morning and afternoon for nursery along with full 6 hour days (30 HOURS). We also offer a wrap-around care offering a breakfast club 7.45am - 8.45am to nursery and reception and afterschool club 3.00pm 5.30pm for reception upwards

Children start our school nursery the term after their 3rd birthday. Children can be added to our waiting list any time throughout the year.

All 3 year olds are entitled to 15 hours free education, they can access this from attending morning or afternoon sessions.

We also offer government funded 30 hours free education, for more information and to check eligibility, visit the government website here.

We are extremely proud of the Early Years Provision that we offer to our youngest children and would advise you to arrange a visit to meet our wonderful team. In the meantime, take a look at our PROSPECTUS VIDEO and see our philosophy in practice for yourself.

It is easy to register your child at Whiston Willis Primary Academy. Simply complete the form by contacting the school office for more information. Remember you can register your child at any point in the year.

The admission policy for 2023/24 is printed in the local authority’s admission booklet which is available by clicking https://www.knowsley.gov.uk/residents/education-and-schools/apply-for-a-school-place

Reception class

NEWS: PRIMARY ADMISSIONS - SEPTEMBER 2024- THE WINDOW IS NOW OPEN- APPLICATIONS CAN BE MADE VIA KNOWSLEY ADMISSIONS TEAM OR CONTACT THE SCHOOL OFFICE FOR MORE INFORMATION

Please note that there is no automatic transfer from our Nursery to reception class. Attending or nursery class does not give your child priority for a place in our reception class. If you want a place in our reception class, you must complete the formal Local Authority application form during the relevant application period. Application booklets are also available from school at the beginning of the school year on request.

(If you live in another borough, contact your home authority for details of where to apply.)

Nursery Admissions
We take pupils into the nursery on a termly basis – usually the term following the child’s third birthday. There is information which includes the application form available from the school or on the Knowsley Council websitehttps://www.knowsley.gov.uk/residents/education-and-schools/apply-for-a-school-place/nursery-class-admissions   (You can use this form wherever you live.)

Please note: Obtaining a place in the nursery does not give your child any priority for admission to reception class – you still need to apply for a reception place at the right time.
