SEND

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo): Ms J. Watkins
Our SENDCo co-ordinates SEND provision across the academy, supports staff and works in partnership with families and external agencies.
Parents and carers who have concerns about their child's learning or development are encouraged to speak to their child's class teacher in the first instance. Alternatively, they can contact the SENDCo through the school office.

Our Inclusive Approach

At Whiston Willis Primary Academy, we are committed to providing an inclusive, supportive and ambitious education where every child is valued and has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

As a UNICEF Gold Rights Respecting School, we recognise every child's right to education and are committed to removing barriers to learning, promoting equality and ensuring that all pupils can participate fully in school life.

We recognise that children have different strengths and needs. Through high-quality teaching, adaptive approaches and our graduated response to SEND, we aim to identify additional needs early and provide appropriate support.

Our SENDCo and pastoral team work closely with pupils, parents/ carers, teachers and external professionals to ensure that provision is responsive to individual needs and regularly reviewed.
