Great to have Altru Drama in school today for their anti bullying performance and workshops with Y3-Y6 today. Important messages shared with the children and recognising what bullying is and how to respond to it! Bullying is never accepted in school.
23rd November
It has been brilliant this week to watch the development of our outdoor physical play area that will supplement our EYFS and KS1 curriculum so well. From seeing the trees crane lifted into site on Monday to the creative developments and manipulation of the materials through the week to almost a finished product- the children have been really excited. Thank you to Cool Canvas who have expertly worked with us.

A great effort from the Y4 football team today at the Knowsley Y4 football competition. The team had some good victories and only lost to eventual the eventual winners in a close match. Excellent play and sporting behaviour- Well done!

What a great First Aid training workshop for our Y6 pupils today. Learning the basic skills in an emergency. Each child will receive a British Heart Foundation certificate for their learning.

What a visit to school today by RAF Shawbury. A training helicopter arrived on our school grounds and the pupils had the opportunity to see the landing and take off up close. Our Y5/6 children had a STEM workshop and a careers question and answer session. What a great opportunity and we now have a number of aspiring pilots or future members of the RAF!
15th November
Sports News... Our Y3 representative team had a good afternoon at Finch Farm playing four fixtures against other schools. They played with lots of spirit and determination and represented our school exceptionally well showing respect for their opponents and great encouragement towards each other. Well done!
10th November
Week 1 of our Five Ways to Wellbeing work when we will CONNECT this half term has begun. The children made a great video to introduce this work and I cant waait to see all our school community connect over the coming weeks and have positive experiences to support with our well being. Thank you to Miss Boyd for planning and developing this work.

What a great performance of Beauty and the Beast for the children in school this week from M and M Theatre Productions. They truly brought the theatre to the school and gave our children a fantastic opportunity to watch the fantastic story unfold.

Our Y6 pupils have done a fantastic job this week of starting their Charity Challenge. Over three coffee sessions, they have raised a staggering £800 for Macmillan Cancer Research. I am so proud of them!
26th October
Our Y6 pupils had a fantastic session working with Peter Yip who teaches the children in many schools around the north west about equality and diversity, The children listened very well and showed their understanding of discrimination and recognised that everyone should be treated equally regardless of any difference.
18th October
It was really great to have two visitors to school in the last few days to talk to some of our children about keeping safe. Children in Lion Class and Zebra Class had a visit from the local Dog's Trust to talk about safety around dogs and especially stray dogs.
Merseyside Police also cam eto speak to the children in KS2 about Mischief Night and Firework safety as we are quickly apporaching that time of year. Hopefully our children and families remain safe- ask your children about how they should keep safe?

FANTASTIC NEWS TO SHARE.....During the summer term, our school was nominated by Wade Deacon Trust to be considered as 'SCHOOL OF THE YEAR' in the National School Awards. Shortlisting was completed by a panel of judges and we have been shortlisted into the last five schools. The final decision will be made in December. We are so proud of our school community and being shortlisted by an independent panel recognises the work we do as a school to give our children the best possible start in their lives.

World Mental Health Day- Don't forget to wear something yellow on Monday to celebrate World Mental Health Day. The children will be learning about the 5 ways to wellbeing- ask them how they can achieve this.

Well done to our football team who began their league fixtures today with two wins and a loss. Great attitude, teamwork and sporting play. Well done to all those children who represented our school so well.

A great time was had by all pupils in Y6 who attended their residential at Robinwood last week. They overcame fears, built stronger friendships, learned how to work even better together and made some great memories.

The children in Y5 and Y6 really benefitted from their assembly today from the UK Parliament Outreach Team. They learned about The House of Commons and House of Lords and what is needed to be an MP.
They also learned about the process in Parliament to make a new law and also discussed which is the most important...health, education or housing?
