Homework and Learning Links

LETTER TO PARENTS

Below are the links and expectations for your child’s homework platforms. Your child will have received a letter outlining their login details and QR codes which take you directly to the platforms.

If you need a replacement letter, please contact your child's class teacher.

We have designed our homework approach to be digital, which we feel is a family-friendly approach, supporting home life and to focus on the fundamental basic skills your child must embed in reading, writing and maths. Accessing homework regularly will support your child's academic ability and increase confidence when tackling the wider curriculum in school. It is crucial that your child engages with homework regularly and teachers will monitor engagement and issue rewards to those who are showing commitment.

Expectations

Phonics - Each week the phonics home links will be available on the school’s website for any children accessing Read Write Inc Phonics. These links are the sounds we are learning each week and will be updated every Monday morning. The colour coded documents are matched to the colour of the book your child is reading and associated sounds. For example, if your child is reading green books, please use the green group document.

Spelling Shed- KS1 and KS2 –30 minutes per week

https://www.spellingshed.com/en-gb/

Spelling Shed is an online spelling platform that allows children to practice spelling words in a fun way. This is completed through games and children can earn coins that they can spend within the app.

TTRockstars - KS2 – 30 minutes per week

https://ttrockstars.com/

TTRockstars is an online times tables programme that allows children to practice their times tables through games. We encourage children to play this 3 times per week in order to ensure fluency within times tables knowledge.

The above expectations can be completed in whichever way supports you as a family e.g. 30 minutes one per week, 10 minutes 3 times per week etc.
