Volunteering and Charity

Each year our pupils and their families support many local and national charity organisations. In recent years, these have included Macmillan Cancer research, Comic Relief, Sports Relief, Children in Need, The James Greenop Foundation, RNLI, The Dog's Trust, RBL Poppy Appeal and the British Heart Foundation.

We have also collected food donations for both Knowsley Foodbanks and for the local church Harvest Festival.

We believe that it is vital for our pupils to recognise the value in giving back to their own communities and helping other people in any way they can.

If you are aware of any pupils who do any additional fundraising or volunteering work, let us know. We can then celebrate this as a school community.

This year each year group from Y1-Y6 will lead on a charity fundraising collection for a range of local and national charities. We will also supplement this with work driven by the Pupil Leadership team to give back in ways we can.

YEAR 6: The pupils in Y6 have been set a target challenge to raise £1000 for charities of their choice over the academic year. Their first fundraising events were coffee mornings in the Autumn term and they raised a staggering £790! The target may have to increase for them as the year progresses!

YEAR 5: The pupils in Y5 have the chance to take part in our school volunteering programme. This involves them signing up to be a volunteer in school to make our school a better place and will also involve some community work including local litter picks as an example.

YEAR 4: The pupils in Y4 have been set the challenge of leading on the local 'Mission Christmas Appeal' to collect toys and gifts for local children.

YEAR 3: The pupils in Y3 have been asked to lead on a foodbank collection in the New Year.

YEAR 2: In the summer term, the pupils in Y2 have been asked to lead on collecting unwanted shoes to support Sal's Shoes.

YEAR 1: In the summer term, the pupils in Y1 have been asked to lead on collecting old football shirts/kits to support the Kit Aid Charity.
