Members of the Local Governing Body have been busy so far this year with a number of them attending training at school to consider the role of a governor in offering support and challenge to school leaders. They have also had an update on the new Education Inspection Framework to ensure they have a clear understanding of how a school is judged under the new framework.
We have also had a number of link governor visits and time has been spent with staff and around classes to consider learning, behaviour and personal development.
Some of our governors have also been involved in our Peer Review process led by NAHT and two other local headteachers who have spent two days reviewing the work we do in school.
During January, our governors many of our governors have visited the school for link governor visits. These have included visits to review behaviour at lunchtimes, safeguarding and SEND visits, health and well being visits and RRS visits. The governors also met with a number of curriculum advisors at their last LGB meeting to share curriculum work in science, MFL, art, design technology, geography, art and computing.
